Fashion Print Design: From the Idea to the Final Print

This book covers the complete process of making fashion prints from the design of the prints to the final appearance of the print on a garment. The book is divided into two parts: one devoted to the creative process of developing a design and the second focussed on the technical aspects of producing the design. The book discusses not only the various systems for producing prints but also the problems and practicalities of printing on a wide variety of different fibres as well as the problems inherent in the use of various colours. The book also contains a large gallery of different types of prints classified by themes in accordance with the latest trends in fashion.

Angel Fernandez graduated with a BA in Fashion from the Lanca School of Fashion in Bilbao. He did his postgraduate degree in Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins in London. He has worked as a fashion designer for over 20 years and he has taught at fashion design and illustration at various fashion schools. He is currently a professor at the Catalan Institute of Fashion in Barcelona.
