Loretta Lux: Imaginary Portraits (wyd. włoskie)

The digitally altered portraits by Loretta Lux (born 1969) irritate the observer by fluctuating indefinitely between photography and painting and between dream and reality. The depicted are mostly children with a porcelain complexion and mannered gestures, looking at us lost in other-worldliness. They pose in front of simple interiors or sparse, sometimes romantic landscapes, reminiscent of the works by old masters like Velazquez or Runge.

Lux uses a complex procedure to create her works, starting with the selection of the models and their clothes to painting the aligned backgrounds and the postproduction at the computer. This volume presents for the first a broad selection of her her unique portraits.
