There have been images of fashion as long as there has been fashion: these are as diverse as fashion itself. Visions & Fashion: Capturing Style 1980 – 2010 provides a comprehensive view of the multi-facetted developments in this field over the last 30 years.
Photographs and fashion illustrations from the international world of fashion make up the main part of the book. A large section focuses on the print media and visual communication of fashion labels and presents themes like Glitz and Glamour and Myths of Modernity in posters, lookbooks, advertising campaigns and videos. Published to accompany the exhibition of the same name at Kulturforum, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (June – October 2011).
