The ‘Art in L.A.’ issue covers the Los Angeles art scene and its history through the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Includes features on artists Chris Burden, Robert Heinicken, Ilene Segalove, John McCracken, and Charles Gaines. David E. James and Kara Keeling write on the history of alternative Los Angeles film and video, and there are artist’s projects by Chris Burden and Raymond Pettibon. Michelle Kuo and Richard Meyer host a roundtable survey on the L.A. art scene with historians Thomas Crow and Andrew Perchuk, curators Maurice Tuchman and Ali Subotnick, gallerists Helene Winer and artists John Baldessari, Harry Gamboa Jr., and Liz Larner.
